MI immersion mill

The particularity of the immersion mill lies in the combination of two process operations: dispersion and milling. Both operations are carried out in a single equipment without the need for additional elements, making it the ideal equipment for batch manufacturing, achieving high-quality products with maximum profitability, reducing milling times, and minimising maintenance costs. The design of the MI mill combines a propeller-type disperser with a “basket” system loaded with microspheres, which acts as a mill in a particle reduction and de-agglomeration process. This system allows the product to be rapidly recirculated, resulting in a dispersed and finely ground paste to the desired fineness. Immersion mills have a number of advantages over other bead milling systems, the main ones being:

• Reduction of grinding time.
• Versatile equipment, suitable for working with different product batches.
• Easy cleaning for when colour changes occur.
• A wider range of products susceptible to grinding.

For products with a high viscosity, these mills can be equipped with a coaxial scraper to assist recirculation, accompanying the product from the ends to the grinding basket located in the center.
