The new KN-160-P cryogenic mill will be the perfect solution for an algae milling process.

Granollers, 1 March 2024. After successfully passing the validation tests, we are preparing the delivery of a new K-160-P Cryogenic Mill manufactured for a Spanish Research Institute. 🔝

This type of equipment allows us to grind fibrillar products or products with moisture in an optimal way. The incorporation of a liquid nitrogen cooling system lowers the temperature to -180 ºC, thus allowing the product to be milled. By cryogenically freezing the product beforehand, we also manage to preserve the properties of the product, since, by freezing it, we compensate for the increase in temperature to which it is subjected during the milling process. In this case, the mill will be used to grind algae with a fineness of 10-100 µm.

Our cryogenic mill also has an automatic filtration system for dust collection, a pressure gauge to control the pressure drop in the sleeves and a fan for gas extraction. All of this is controlled by a touch screen.

With the aim of optimising manufacturing processes in a sustainable way 🌍, due to its low energy consumption, reducing times and minimising production errors.
